Position: Clinical Resource Specialist, Wound (Miami/Ft. Lauderdale)

Overview

The Clinical Resource Specialist for Burn (CRS-B) is a field-based clinical position requiring a strong clinical background in Burn care. The CRS-B will deliver clinical education to practicing clinicians and key thought leaders within the Burn community. Primary product focus will be on the core group of SANTYL, ACTICOAT, VERSAJET, OASIS, and BIOBRANE with the primary call points in Burn Units, Pharmacy, and the OR.

They will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of educational and clinical initiatives that support business objectives for targeted accounts/geographies. Works in collaboration with the Burn Sales Team and the Burn Medical Education Manager to ensure a coordinated effort in meeting sales and clinical education objectives. The CRS-B applies experience to form relationships with key clinical and economic decision makers to drive adoption of focus products and influence sales.

The CRS-B will work to deliver Smith+Nephew (S+N) branded programs, to provide customer facing clinical resources, and product based clinical education, within the burn care setting. The CRS-B acts within the scope of corporate objectives and policies to accomplish goals.

Responsibilities
  • Business Development
    • Collaborate with the Burn team to develop business plans, clinical/educational strategies, and to manage product validations and implementations in assigned target accounts.
    • Drive adoption of product utilization by providing education through multimedia resources.
    • Identify and communicate competitive intelligence to Sales, Marketing and Clinical teams.
    • Work with the Burn team to identify opportunities for case studies and generation of clinical evidence and new product implementations.
  • Customer Account Coordination and Partnership
    • Collaborate with Clinical Business Manager/Director and Burn Regional Business Managers (RBM-Bs) to manage product validations and implementations in assigned target accounts.
    • Complete assessments of customer needs and resource requirements for clinical education and product training during and after product validations and conversions.
    • Develop coverage plans and metrics for clinical education and product training in target accounts.
    • Use clinical, product portfolio, and evidence-based knowledge to conduct consultative calls/meetings with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and decision makers in all market segments.
    • Apply knowledge of the S+N selling process for the Advanced Wound Management (AWM) portfolio of products.
    • Act as the voice of the customer and offer real-world experience perspective with our products when providing input to the company’s new product development efforts.
  • Education and Product Training
    • Maintain extensive knowledge of references for clinical research and evidence that supports key marketing messages.
    • Maintain comprehensive product knowledge of focus brands.
    • Serve as an educational and clinical resource for the advanced wound care portfolio in target accounts as well as with AWM colleagues.
    • Provide formal presentations to a variety of audiences/venues (corporate, sales, marketing, physicians, high-level decision makers).
    • Assess and triage issues related to product performance and function, and maintain knowledge of the formal complaint process, initiating/completing documentation per S+N compliance.
    • Respond to customer questions/concerns related to S+N products on challenging/complex wounds.
    • Provide clinical education and consultation to AWM Account Managers.
  • Relationship Development
    • Apply clinical expertise and business knowledge to develop and maintain relationships with key clinicians and opinion leaders to establish and drive clinical credibility and adoption of S+N products.
    • Identify and develop local and regional HCPs ensuring activities are coordinated with Marketing and Medical Education teams.
  • Compliance and Ethics
    • Adhere to S+N business ethics and corporate compliance policies; represent S+N appropriately and uphold the same standards for direct reports.
