We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Medical Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent time management and communication skills, capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires advanced computer proficiency and the ability to work with medical software systems for scheduling and data entry.

A typical work week will be 30+ hours. Compensation: $20 - $24 hourly, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage high call volumes while maintaining professionalism and efficiency.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments using electronic medical record (EMR) software.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry into the medical system.
  • Provide courteous and patient-focused communication, even in challenging situations.
  • Maintain organization in a busy medical office, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Perform well under pressure while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.

Requirements:

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Patience and professionalism when interacting with patients, including those who may be difficult or distressed.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving.
  • Comfortable handling multiple phone calls while managing administrative tasks.
  • High level of organization and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in medical software systems and advanced computer skills.
