Shift: Day Shift

A Microbiologist works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a licensed clinical professional in a clinic or practice environment. A Lab Technologist analyzes a variety of biological specimens.

• Work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a licensed clinical professional in a clinic or practice environment.
• Analyze a variety of biological specimens.
• Responsible for performing scientific testing on samples and reporting results to physicians.
• Conduct blood tests for transfusion purposes; may draw blood from patient s finger, ear lobe, or vein, observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples.
• Develops and maintains cell/tissue cultures for testing purposes, as appropriate; isolates and identifies specimens using advanced laboratory techniques.

• Education:
  
  BS Medical Technology
• Minimum experience:
  
  3 years microbiology experience in a hospital setting
• Additional skills: flex to work every other or every third weekend
• Must be licensed as a Medical Technologist in the state of Florida in Serology and Microbiology. Preferred licensure in all five areas. National Certification preferred.
