About The OpportunityA rapidly growing, well‑established commercial services organization is hiring its first‑ever FP&A professional to build and lead the company’s financial planning function from the ground up. Due to significant organizational growth, the CFO is ready to transition FP&A ownership to a dedicated expert who can provide deeper insights, better forecasting, and stronger financial storytelling for operational and executive teams. This is a high‑impact, highly visible role with a direct line to senior leadership.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Build and own the FP&A function—processes, tools, reporting, models, and forecasting frameworks.
- Partner closely with operational leaders to understand business drivers and support decision‑making.
- Develop financial models and dashboards using Power BI and Excel.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles end‑to‑end.
- Extract and analyze data from ERP and BI systems to generate actionable insights.
- Prepare financial narratives and presentations that help leadership understand trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Drive continuous process improvement across finance, reporting, and planning workflows.
- ✓ First FP&A hire with the autonomy to build and shape the function
- ✓ Direct visibility to the CFO and senior leadership
- ✓ High‑growth environment backed by a major parent organization while maintaining a collaborative, family‑like culture
- ✓ Opportunity for rapid upward mobility, including future leadership as the department expands
- ✓ Hands‑on, entrepreneurial role where your ideas and initiative will be recognized and appreciated
- 7+ years of FP&A experience in a small‑to‑mid‑sized company environment (around ~$100M revenue ideal)
- Strong financial modeling skills (Power BI highly preferred)
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial partnership
- Solid business acumen and ability to “tell the story” behind the numbers
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- Intellectually curious
- Proactive and self‑directed
- Strong communicator
- Collaborative and easy to work with
- Process‑driven and eager to improve workflows
- A builder—not just someone who plugs into existing systems
- 401(k) with strong employer match (100% on first 3%, 50% on next 3%)
- Multiple health plan options with 50–90%+ employer coverage
- Dental, vision, life, and supplemental life insurance
- Employee resource programs and additional benefit offerings
- Supportive, people‑first culture
