The resort offers 325 guest rooms, suites and villas, plus 91 Private Resort Residences, 12 restaurants and lounges, a spa, pool options and a waterfront promenade with retail and dining. The property is home to a diverse team focused on delivering memorable experiences and stellar service, with a culture that emphasizes welfare and wellbeing.

Pier Sixty-Six Resort is looking for a seasoned, eager, and enthusiastic Assistant Director of Finance to join the team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in Management of Accounting Team: uses interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial decisions; demonstrates honesty and integrity; leads by example.
  • Oversees internal, external and regulatory audit processes.
  • Ensures regular communication with employees to align with business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance.
  • Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees.
  • Provides strong leadership, differentiates top performers, fosters teamwork, and supports work/life balance.
  • Ensures employees establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships within their team.
  • Participates in employee performance appraisals and provides feedback as needed.
  • Ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to SOPs/LSOPs.
  • Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
  • Maintains an open-door policy and solicits employee feedback.
  • Managing Projects and Policies: generates and provides accurate, timely reports; analyzes information to choose the best solutions; oversees pre-opening budget and procedures.
  • Compiles, codes, categorizes, calculates, audits, or verifies information or data.
  • Ensures the P&L is accurate and delivered timely; reconciles balance sheet; ensures proper tax rates for sales/use tax are applied.
  • Ensures SOPs/LSOPs compliance; supports documentation for account balances; reviews audit issues and makes corrections as needed.
  • Ensures permits, licenses, and vendor contracts are current; leverages centralized accounting processes and shared services.
  • Demonstrates and applies accounting knowledge; stays up-to-date with job-relevant issues, systems, and processes; uses information systems to generate financial reports and support decision-making.
  • Proving Financial Information and Guidance to Others: informs executives and peers on relevant financial information; attends critique meetings; advises the Director of Finance on operating/financial issues; communicates financial concepts clearly to drive desired behaviors; provides guidance on budgeting policies and resource utilization.
  • Provides information to supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates by various means including in person, telephone, or written form.
  • Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals: submits reports on time; ensures profits and losses are documented accurately; aims to exceed goals; develops goals and plans; monitors taxes; supports strong controls to safeguard assets and manage risks.

Qualifications

Education and Experience preferred:

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or related major; no work experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting.
  • Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, and financial accounting systems.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
