Family Office Accounting Manager

Overview

A leading wealth advisory and family office platform is seeking a Family Office Manager to join its Personal CFO Services team. This role serves as the primary relationship manager for high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, delivering comprehensive accounting, financial, and operational support across complex personal and entity structures.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional client service skills, and the ability to manage multiple client relationships in a fast-paced, professional services environment.

The Family Office Manager acts as the day-to-day lead for assigned client relationships, coordinating financial reporting, bill pay, cash management, and special projects while partnering closely with internal teams and external advisors.

• Onboard new clients by establishing financial reporting processes, charts of accounts, and vendor/household relationships
• Provide core accounting services, including journal entries, payroll oversight, investment reporting, and reconciliation of client financial data across multiple entities
• Research and resolve discrepancies in financial statements and reporting
• Prepare customized financial reports and analyses for individuals and related entities
• Monitor and coordinate cash management activities
• Support internal teams through review of reconciliations and final deliverables
• Prepare year-end reporting, including 1099 tracking and coordination
• Maintain records related to charitable contributions, gifting, cost basis, and other tracking schedules
• Review and approve bill payment processing
• Reconcile bill pay accounts and research discrepancies
• Generate and compile recurring bill payment and expense reports

• Serve as primary day-to-day contact for client communications and project coordination
• Identify, manage, and resolve client issues across multiple concurrent relationships
• Prepare client meeting materials and lead meetings as appropriate
• Respond to inquiries from external advisors, including wealth managers, CPAs, and attorneys
• Provide financial data and analysis to support tax, estate, and charitable planning
• Manage and execute special projects as needed

• Provide day-to-day oversight of assigned client service teams
• Train and mentor new team members on policies, procedures, and best practices
• Ensure accountability, quality control, and timely delivery of client work

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required
• CPA certification and prior public accounting experience strongly preferred
• 5–8 years of experience working with individual and family finances, including investments and related entities
• General understanding of trusts, foundations, estate planning concepts, and related tax considerations
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, accounts payable, payroll, income tax concepts, investments, and banking
• Proven ability to operate in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail
