Our client is a growing organization in the legal services space with a strong national presence. They are continuing to scale their Finance and Operations teams to support growth and ensure best‑in‑class internal processes. They are currently looking to add an Accounts Payable Manager to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:$90k - $110k
Position Overview:The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the day‑to‑day accounts payable function, managing a team of 3–4 professionals, while ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of invoices and payments. This role is critical in maintaining strong financial controls, supporting attorneys and internal stakeholders, and driving process improvements within a legal environment.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Manager:- Lead and manage the accounts payable team, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight.
- Oversee full‑cycle AP, including invoice processing, vendor management, payment runs, and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, client billing requirements, and legal industry standards.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, and Legal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve workflows.
- Review and approve invoices, expense coding, and vendor setups.
- Support month‑end close activities related to AP and reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Prior accounts payable experience within a law firm or legal services environment.
- Experience managing or leading an Accounts Payable team (3–4 direct reports).
- Strong understanding of full‑cycle AP and internal controls.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
- Experience with legal billing systems or ERP/accounting software.
- Background supporting multi‑office or high‑growth organizations.
- Process improvement or systems implementation experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
