We are seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Financial Cost Accountant/Analyst to join our Plant Controlling team. This role is a critical business partner to plant management and operations teams, providing financial insights and support to drive efficiency, profitability, and informed decision‑making. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in cost accounting, financial analysis within a manufacturing environment, and hands‑on experience with SAP, particularly the CO (Controlling) and FI (Financial Accounting) modules.

Junior Financial Analyst

Responsibilities
  • Perform month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations related to production costs.
  • Analyze and report on manufacturing variances such as material, labor, overhead, and purchase price.
  • Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
  • Assist in the annual standard cost roll‑up process.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly plant performance reports and KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to track and forecast plant performance, operational spending, and capital expenditures.
  • Provide clear, concise commentary on financial results, explaining deviations from budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Play a key role in the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop departmental budgets and spending forecasts.
  • Monitor spending against the budget and work with managers to identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.
  • Analyze inventory levels, identify slow‑moving or obsolete inventory, and ensure proper valuation and reserve calculations.
  • Support production ad‑hoc issues related to inventory.
  • Reconcile inventory sub‑ledgers to the general ledger and conduct inventory adjustments.
  • Utilize SAP CO‑PC, CO‑PA, and FI modules for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
  • Assist in maintaining master data integrity within SAP, including cost centers, profit centers, and material masters.
  • Act as a financial business partner to plant leadership, providing ad‑hoc analysis and decision support.
  • Analyze the financial viability of capital expenditure requests, calculating ROI, payback period, and NPV.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1‑3+ years of experience in a financial analyst or cost accounting role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficient hands‑on experience with SAP FI and CO modules.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills and experience with BW and Hyperion.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SAP Analytics Cloud is highly preferred.
  • Experience with automation tools such as VBA, Catalytic, Alteryx, Analysis for Office, Python is desirable.

The work environment is onsite Monday through Friday with occasional overtime needed during peak periods such as month‑end and year‑end.
