Brand Storytelling for Luxury Yacht Management and Crew Placement Strategy

Reardon Yacht Consulting, a family‑owned, full‑service yacht management firm, is seeking an experienced Yacht Accountant to support our expanding fleet. This role requires someone who understands the financial rhythms of the yachting industry and has prior experience with a yacht management firm or as a yacht purser handling onboard financials.

The Yacht Accountant will oversee all accounting and reporting functions for a portfolio of managed vessels. Accuracy, communication, and the ability to navigate a fast‑moving operational environment are key.

This is a full‑time, permanent role with a competitive, shore‑based salary commensurate with experience. The position is office‑based, working from our Fort Lauderdale headquarters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Closely collaborate with the RYC yacht operations team.
  • Vendor invoice oversight, track outstanding payables, and prepare weekly payment runs.
  • Review vessel bank balances daily and monitor cash flow.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including reconciliations and variance explanations.
  • Ensure timely, accurate disbursement of crew payroll.
  • Prepare owner funding requests and monitor vessel spend against budget.
  • Prepare, review, and revise annual operating budgets in collaboration with Yacht Managers, captains, and owner offices.
  • Provide clear, professional communication to captains, pursers, crew, and owner representatives.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date records and ensure compliance with internal financial procedures.
  • Support vessel‑related administrative tasks as needed to maintain smooth operations, e.g., prepaid card and credit card administration.
  • Attention to detail and strong financial accuracy.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Confident written and verbal communicator, able to work closely with Captains, crew, and Owner Offices as well as the RYC Operations team.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines.
  • Discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential financial information.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast‑moving, international operating environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including reconciliations, monthly accounting preparation, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Direct industry experience is required — either with a yacht management company or as a yacht purser with significant financial duties.
  • Strong working knowledge of Quick Books, Xero, Voly, or other accounting software.
  • Experience with multi‑currency accounting is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with yacht payroll structures, operational spending, and owner reporting.
