Job Summary We are looking for a hands‑on accounting expert to own the full financial reporting and compliance cycle in a multi‑fund public‑sector environment. This is a highly visible role where you’ll drive accurate GASB financials, lead Single Audits, strengthen internal controls, and partner with program leadership on budgeting and grant tracking.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare complete GASB‑compliant financial statements and disclosures on a monthly and annual basis.
• Execute the entire close process across multiple funds/entities while hitting strict public‑sector reporting deadlines.
• Serve as the technical lead on complex accounting topics (grants, debt, leases, fixed assets).
• Manage external audits from start to finish, including all Single Audit/Uniform Guidance schedules and work papers.
• Build and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies tailored to public funds.
• Collaborate with department heads on budget development, restricted‑fund monitoring, and cash forecasting.
• Continuously improve processes, reporting templates, and system workflows to increase speed and transparency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; active CPA strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive governmental or grant‑intensive nonprofit accounting experience.
• Deep, current knowledge of GASB standards and Single Audit requirements.
• Public accounting audit background is a significant advantage.
• Proven success in multi‑fund or complex public‑sector structures.
• Advanced Excel skills and hands‑on experience with governmental ERP/fund accounting systems.
• Excellent communicator who can explain technical concepts to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Demonstrated mentoring and leadership abilities.
