Director of Accounting

A nationally recognized professional services firm is seeking a Director of Accounting to lead firmwide financial operations from its Fort Lauderdale office. • Oversee full-cycle accounting operations (AP/AR, billing, trust, collections, bank reconciliations)
• Lead the monthly close and issue timely, accurate financial statements
• Maintain internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance
• Serve as the point person for external auditors and internal escalations
• Monitor unbilled WIP, trust balances, and unreconciled transactions
• Drive process improvements, KPI reporting, and firm-level financial hygiene

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial operations
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA/CMA highly preferred
• Law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred
• Expertise in trust accounting, GAAP, audit prep, and ASC 842 compliance
• Experience managing month-end close, reconciliations, and multi-entity reporting
• Ability to lead system/process improvements and collaborate across departments

Salary Range:$150,000–$190,000base(commensuratewithexperience;

CPA/legalbackgroundmaycommandhigher)
