Job SummaryOur Client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial HVAC BIM Designer to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong HVAC technical knowledge, advanced BIM software expertise, and effective communication and leadership capabilities. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining precise 3D HVAC models, coordinating across multiple trades, and ensuring compliance with Florida mechanical codes and project standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Create and manage detailed 3D HVAC system models using Revit, Sys Que, and Navisworks
- Coordinate multidisciplinary trade models to identify and resolve conflicts prior to installation
- Participate actively in BIM coordination and project meetings
- Maintain accurate and current models and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Perform clash detection and collaborate with design teams to resolve discrepancies
- Ensure models adhere to applicable codes, industry standards, and project specifications
- Provide technical assistance to field teams and ongoing projects
- Develop detailed installation and fabrication drawings for field use
- Work closely with engineers, architects, and project stakeholders to clarify requirements
- Develop and refine mechanical construction models within Revit
- Ensure all modeling aligns with the project’s BIM Execution Plan requirements
- Support engineering, pre-construction, construction, retrofit, and project management teams as needed
- Assist the Engineering/Pre-Construction Manager as required
- Travel periodically to office or job sites when necessary
- Attend turnover meetings, construction coordination meetings, and BIM-related sessions as needed
- Ability to work onsite daily and collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience modeling HVAC piping and duct systems (including chilled water and condenser water systems) or equivalent field experience
- Strong proficiency in Revit, Sys Que, and Navisworks preferred
- Thorough understanding of HVAC systems and Florida mechanical codes
- Autodesk Revit certification preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively
