Environmental Health Safety Specialist

The Environment, Health, and Safety Process Safety Expert will support onsite operations by ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements. This role is hands-on and focused on industrial hygiene, workplace exposure monitoring, and hazard identification in laboratory and pilot plant environments. The position requires close collaboration with site teams to promote a safe and compliant work environment.

• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and internal standards
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative industrial hygiene monitoring, including air sampling and exposure assessments
• Identify potential health hazards through inspections and evaluations of laboratory and pilot plant environments
• Support sampling activities, including off-shift coverage as needed
• Provide training and guidance on hazard recognition, safe work practices, and use of protective equipment
• Develop and recommend control measures such as engineering, administrative, and personal protective equipment controls
• Prepare clear and accurate reports documenting findings, assessments, and recommendations

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or a related field
• Hands-on industrial hygiene experience with workplace sampling and exposure monitoring
• Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or similar regulated industry environments

• Master’s degree in a related scientific or safety discipline
• Familiarity with good manufacturing practice and good laboratory practice environments
• Experience supporting laboratory or pilot plant operations
