Job Description
We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You will lead the design, analysis, and inspection of civil/structural projects, ensuring compliance with codes and client standards.
This role offers the opportunity to manage projects from inception to completion and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design and analysis for structural/civil engineering projects
- Prepare, review, and seal engineering drawings, plans, and specifications
- Conduct site inspections, structural assessments, and forensic investigations
- Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and regulations (IBC, ASCE, ACI, etc.)
- Supervise and review work from junior engineers and drafters
- Manage multiple projects, schedules, and budgets
- Write technical reports, letters, and permit submittals
- Stay current on industry best practices and technologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in State of Florida
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA, STAAD, ETABS, SAP
2000, etc.) - Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other drafting platforms
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines
Preferred:
- Experience with concrete restoration, post-tension systems, or façade inspections
- OSHA 10/30, Threshold Inspector Certification, or other relevant credentials
- Knowledge of local permitting and code enforcement procedures
- Previous experience in consulting or forensic engineering
