Job Description

Responsibilities- Performs complex structural analysis, prepare calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, water resource facilities, and other complex structural facilities.
- Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
- Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
- Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
- Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
- Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFI’s, and review of contractor submittals.
- Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
- May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
- May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
- Supervises Structural Engineers and works with Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications. Is responsible for leading larger production teams and serving as the responsible charge for projects.
- Perform project administrative tasks, which may include any/all of the following: preparation of design fee estimates, monitoring progress against budget and schedule, management of project changes, and implementation of Quality Control requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field), and typically 10+ years of related work experience. Professional Engineer registration may be required.
- Proficiency with use of non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, Project Wise, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Proficiency with use of structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000.
- Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 53.
- Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program and 10+ years of related work experience.

None. This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
