Water Makers Inc. is seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Reverse Osmosis Mechanical Engineer – Water Systems to join our team. This role is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of RO water treatment systems for residential, commercial, and marine applications. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in water treatment processes, strong collaboration skills, and a hands‑on approach to project execution.
Key Responsibilities- Design and engineer reverse osmosis water treatment systems, including pre‑treatment, membrane selection, post‑treatment, and delivery.
- Develop system layouts, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Select pumps, membranes, filters, instrumentation, controls, and automation components.
- Collaborate with electrical and automation teams to integrate PLCs and HMIs for system monitoring and control.
- Work closely with internal departments procurement, fabrication, operations, and field services to align system design with business needs.
- Coordinate with third‑party vendors and suppliers for equipment specifications, sourcing, and technical support.
- Support the programming, configuration, and troubleshooting of PLC‑based control systems.
- Participate in system testing, commissioning, and ongoing optimization to ensure performance and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all designs, PLC logic, I/O mapping, BOMs, and operating manuals.
- Ensure systems comply with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- 5+ years of experience in RO system design, including system layout, equipment selection, and automation integration.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of water chemistry, membrane processes, and system hydraulics.
- Certified Water Technologist (CWT) preferred, but not required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience working with PLCs and HMI interfaces, preferably with Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid Works, and electrical schematics.
- Experience using design tools such as ROSA or WAVE, is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
