We are looking for a Service and Commissioning Engineer to join our Global Services based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL
. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and commissioning fire and safety systems mainly onboard cruise ships, both in operation and under construction at shipyards in Europe. The position includes technical support, assistance, and international travel as required.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as a Service and Commissioning Engineer will be:

  • Service and repair work onboard ships (mainly cruise ships)
  • Commissioning work at shipyards in Europe (newbuilds, cruise ships).
  • Technical services and remote assistance to customers, partners and colleagues.
  • Travelling in USA, but also globally when it is required.
  • Work preparation (problem description, documentation, software)
  • Work closing (signed service report, customer satisfaction, prepare documents for invoicing)
  • Store backup SW & other relevant system documentation.
Qualifications

You demonstrate a customer-oriented attitude and have a good commercial acumen. You can work independently, but can easily cooperate with others, are willing to share knowledge, experience, information and support others in the pursuit of goals. In addition, you can adjust fast to changing situations and own the responsibility for the results. The ideal candidate will have a solid educational background in IT systems and a strong technical understanding of electronics, enabling them to service and commission our fire alarm systems effectively.

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT (Networks), System integration or similar.
  • Experience with programming.
  • Direct experience with maritime electrical systems.
  • Technical mindset and analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written.

Please note:
This role involves physical activity, including working in confined spaces, climbing stairs across multiple ship levels (up to +/-12 floors), and occasionally boarding ships via rope ladders while at anchor.
