Instructor - Chemistry

Primary

Purpose:

Performs teaching, scholarship/research and service consistent with the current university faculty policy manual.

• Teaches eight (8) courses or activity equivalents in organic chemistry, general chemistry, and other upper-level chemistry courses per year in various formats (on-campus days, evenings, off-campus, online, etc.).
• Participates in curriculum and/or program development, as assigned.
• Is accessible to students according to College guidelines; maintains regular office hours for student advising and consultation.
• Conducts scholarship/research activities.
• Serves and contributes to appropriate college and university committees.
• Provides community service and participates in university, college and departmental functions that contribute to campus life (e.g., athletic events, orientations, receptions, commencements).
• Attends meetings as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Proficiency in the use of computer hardware and curriculum-related software.

Required Education: Master Degree

Experience and Qualifications: College-level teaching experience; experience or interest in developing online courses (preferred).
