PrimaryPurpose:
Responsible for teaching and training audiology students along with the supervision of students at clinical training facilities. Potential for scholarly productivity including articles in referred journals, invited presentations, paper and/or poster presentations at state and regional meetings; active participation in professional audiology organizations at local and state levels. Must also participate in grants and research development.

Essential Job Functions:Job Requirements: Appointment to the rank of professor requires a record of distinguished scholarship and outstanding teaching ability, evidenced by recognized professional productivity in the field(s) of specialization. Appointment to the rank of associate professor normally requires a record of substantial success in teaching, scholarship, and service. Appointment to the rank of assistant professor requires completion of professional training, which in most disciplines will be a terminal degree (usually the earned doctorate),and the clear promise of a successful career in teaching, scholarship, and service.

- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to effectively present information to students, public groups, and professionals.
- Ability to work with appropriate mathematical concepts specific to the particular discipline.
- Ability to apply concepts to practical situations.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables simultaneously.
- Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors and support staff at all levels.
- Adaptability and willingness to teach courses and/or perform special duties as assigned.
Required Certifications/Licensures: Eligible for licensure as an audiologist in the State of Florida.
