Temporary-After Care Counselor

Position OverviewRole:
Temporary After‑Care Counselor (Non‑Exempt, Hourly).
Working hours:
Monday‑Friday, 3:00 PM‑5:45 PM. Position is not subject to grant funding.
- Work with children both indoors and outdoors.
- Participate in all activities with enthusiasm.
- Demonstrate patience and self‑control with children and other staff.
- Accept guidance and supervision.
- Assist in teaching or leading activities as assigned.
- Inform administrators of any problems or concerns.
- Follow all rules and regulations while setting a good example for children.
- Be knowledgeable about children’s health conditions and dietary restrictions.
- Assist children who may need extra time acclimating.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations, such as wearing facial coverings and maintaining social distancing.
- Work effectively with other counselors and staff.
Must work all days, Monday‑Friday 3:00‑5:45 PM.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities1. Ability to orally communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, using the English language, without interpretation.
- Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.
- Ability to successfully complete the Level II Background Screening.

Required EducationMust have completed 10th grade.
Required ExperienceAt least one (1) year of experience working with children.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in a camp or child‑care program.
Background ScreeningBackground/Fingerprint screening required.
