Position Summary:
Faculty members are responsible for the delivery of quality education services. They engage students, foster learning, role model professionalism, and ultimately produce competence‑trained students prepared for professional careers. This includes working with the Associate Director of Nursing over the assigned cohort, the Director of Nursing, and other campus faculty and staff to ensure consistent and high‑quality delivery of assigned courses.
- Full‑time faculty must become ATI Champions within 90 days of hire.
- Prepare course plans and materials.
- Deliver course lectures/facilitate labs and/or clinical rotations.
- Monitor equipment and supply needs.
- Maintain classroom.
- Seek an approved substitute in case of absence.
- Enforce HCI policies (attendance, dress code, clinical policies, etc.).
- Participate in orientation, graduation, and pinning ceremonies (full‑time faculty required; part‑time requested).
- Work on retention plans and program development.
- Attend staff and faculty meetings (full‑time faculty required; part‑time requested).
- Participate in committees and knowledge sharing forums (full‑time faculty required; part‑time requested).
- Facilitate student engagement.
- Direct and assess student progress in achieving theory (content: cognitive) and performance (competencies: psychomotor and affective) requirements of the program.
- Monitor student progress and follow up as needed.
- Provide weekly feedback reports to the ADON, DON, SVPAA, and COO.
- Maintain any relevant licensures, certifications, and paperwork for personnel file.
- Maintain a minimum of eight (8) hours of continuing education units (CEU’s) annually by participating in professional development and in‑services.
- Encourage students to submit course evaluations, review evaluations when available, and use feedback to improve course delivery.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Participate in ACEN and other accreditation activities.
- Comply with all governmental regulations and accreditation standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Degree requirement: minimum Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN or equivalent) from an accredited program. Master’s degree preferred.
- Current, active RN or APRN license issued by the Florida Department of Health.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of four (4) years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught (per ACCSC).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical skills.
- Excellent teaching skill and ability to efficiently manage students’ clinical and skills lab activities.
- Computer literacy: functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to manage people and projects.
- Knowledgeable in the course content and effective in directing and evaluating student learning and lab performance.
- Prepared in educational theory and techniques.
- A willingness to follow high ethical standards.
- Workload is dependent upon the faculty classification.
- Faculty will start and end on time for assigned courses, clinicals, and lab hours.
- Faculty must obtain prior approval from the ADON/DON if assignment requires overtime.
- Teaching must be in face‑to‑face contact with students in any of the following areas: didactic/classroom instruction, clinical/offsite or onsite active patient/mannequin care experience, lab/simulation/active learning experiences.
- Full‑time faculty are required to teach a minimum of 30 hours per week, attend meetings, participate in accreditation, serve on committees, and perform other duties as assigned.
The physical demands are typical of a professional office setting and higher education teaching environment, along with activities of a professional nurse: communicating with coworkers, presenting to a classroom of students, demonstrating procedures and techniques, and traveling between classes and offices. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

LocationThis position is onsite at the following campuses:
- West Palm Beach (Main Campus)
- Fort Lauderdale (Branch of West Palm Beach)
Any changes must be reviewed by the Vice President of Academic Affairs and President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO). All final approvals must come from the President/CEO.
