We are currently seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to join a high-quality healthcare team in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. This locum tenens opportunity offers flexibility, a supportive work environment, and the chance to work in both a main Emergency Department (ED) and a Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED). The position provides a wide variety of cases in a busy, dynamic setting.

Start dates are flexible, and the opportunity will be available until permanent hires are found, possibly extending through summer 2025.

  • The FSED tends to have lower-acuity cases but still offers diverse emergency care.

• Supportive Environment:

  • 2-3 APPs and 6-8 Emergency Medicine residents per shift at the main ER, providing ample support and learning opportunities.

• Shift Details:

  • Main ER shifts: 6 AM-4 PM, 9 AM-8 PM, 11 AM-11 PM, 4 PM-3 AM, and 8 PM-7 AM.
  • FSED shifts: 6 AM-6 PM, 6 PM-6 AM for physicians; APPs from 10 AM-10 PM; residents from 2 PM-12 AM.
  • No call or on-call responsibilities.

• Core Responsibilities:

  • Handle typical emergency medicine procedures and manage a variety of cases, including cardiac, neurological, and other acute medical emergencies.
  • Follow-up care is handled by inpatient teams when necessary, with no ongoing responsibilities post-shift.
