Position: OPS DENTAL HYGIENIST - 64858599

This is a part-time, in-office position requiring on-site work at one of our facilities located throughout Broward County.

The State Personnel System is an E-Verify employer.

This position requires you to work on site at one of our facilities located throughout Broward County.

This is a part-time, in office position. You must be willing to physically come in the office to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Eligibility:
Licensed as a dental hygienist in accordance with Chapter 466, Florida Statutes. One (1) or more years of experience working with pediatric dental patients. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. Willingness to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours in emergency situations.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Under the supervision of the Dental Administrator and a dentist, remove calculus deposits, accretions and stains from exposed surfaces of teeth and from the tooth surfaces within the gingival sulcus; perform gingival curettage and root planning; pre-assess and chart suspected findings in the oral cavity; place, expose, process and mount dental and carpal radiograph films; apply sealants and topical fluoride; polish crowns and amalgam restorations;

    record procedures performed; instruct patients in oral hygiene care; perform remediable tasks as delegated in the Dental Practice Act.
  • Prepare trays with the proper instruments for specified procedures; clean and sterilize instruments; maintain equipment and operators in a clean and orderly state; coordinate and perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Participate in internal committees and attend required CHD meetings; actively participate in the creation of a positive teamwork environment; accurately complete Employee Activity Reports daily; check and respond to emails daily.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Willingness to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
  • Will work in an office setting and be physically present on site.
  • Licensed as a dental hygienist per Florida Statutes.
  • One or more years' experience with pediatric dental patients.
  • A valid driver's license, free of major infractions, and access to an automobile for work purposes with willingness to drive to multiple sites.

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
