Job Overview
We are seeking a professional, customer-focused Service Advisor to act as the primary point of contact for customers in our marine service department. This role is responsible for managing service requests, coordinating repair and maintenance activities, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience from start to finish. The ideal candidate is highly organized, an excellent communicator, and comfortable working with boat systems or marine service operations.
Key Responsibilities Customer Interaction & Service Intake- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner (in person, phone, email)
- Receive, document, and coordinate customer service requests
- Consult with customers to accurately identify service needs
- Schedule service appointments based on availability, workload, and technician schedules
- Create and manage detailed work orders outlining service scope and timelines
- Coordinate sourcing, ordering, and staging of parts and materials
- Assign jobs to technicians based on expertise and capacity
- Keep customers updated on service progress, changes, delays, or additional recommended work
- Maintain comprehensive service records, work orders, and customer interactions
- Prepare and verify accurate invoices prior to customer pickup
- Ensure completed work meets company standards and customer expectations
- Monitor service parts inventory and assist with restocking
- Promote safety standards and compliance with environmental/waste regulations
- Collect customer feedback and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare periodic service performance and activity reports
- Communicate preventative maintenance plans, service packages, or promotions
- Participate in training related to customer service, marine systems, or service technology
- High school diploma or equivalent (marine or technical training a plus)
- Experience in service coordination, service writing, or customer service (marine experience preferred)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to understand and explain basic technical service information
- Proficiency in computer systems, scheduling tools, and service software
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Professional, ethical, and customer-focused approach
- Familiarity with boat systems, marine repairs, or maintenance (preferred)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment
- Willingness to work weekends or extended hours as needed
