Role & Responsibilities
  • Enter and review payroll data (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly), process new hires and terminations, and manage employee maintenance, tax information, and direct deposit.
  • Review and import hours from the time and attendance system; administer garnishments, tax levies, support orders, and other pay adjustments as needed.
  • Implement and maintain payroll best practices; collaborate with HR to improve payroll and HRIS processes.
  • Audit payroll data entry and employee status changes for accuracy before payroll execution.
  • Manage benefits: orientation, enrollment/termination, and monthly invoicing audits.
  • Coordinate with HR for timely updates to employee masterfile changes.
  • Coordinate with managers to ensure timely and accurate reporting of hours for UKG payroll; manage interfaces between UKG and benefit providers.
  • Prepare and issue manual checks as required; generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports using UKG Reporting.
  • Fulfill governmental regulatory mandates and ensure filings are performed.
  • Plan and administer annual open enrollment; prepare materials, conduct meetings, coordinate on-site provider representation, and process changes within deadlines.
  • Audit enrollments and dependent information for accuracy; address benefit inquiries promptly.
  • Resolve discrepancies with carriers and payroll; manage disability claims with the third-party administrator and administer COBRA enrollments/changes and unemployment claims.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and maintain high service levels.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience with UKG or similar payroll software.
  • 2+ years of payroll experience.
  • Experience calculating compensation for salaried and hourly employees is a plus.
  • Clean driving/background/drug screening record.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax withholding and labor regulations.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
