Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in accounting to support financial operations, particularly within the automotive industry. This position is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and offers an opportunity to work remotely while focusing on specialized accounting tasks.

* Responsibilities:

- Manage corporate tax filings, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and deadlines.

- Handle sales tax calculations and submissions for the organization.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

- Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.

- Utilize Quick Books Online to manage day-to-day accounting activities effectively.

- Analyze financial data related to buying and selling cars, including commission calculations.

- Support financial reporting and provide insights specific to the auto dealership industry.

- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

- Ensure accuracy in all financial documentation and reporting.

- Assist in audits and reviews as needed to ensure compliance.

Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filings.

- Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and processes.

- Proficiency in Quick Books Online and general accounting software.

- Familiarity with journal entries and general ledger reconciliation.

- Previous experience in the automotive dealership industry is required.

- Ability to analyze commissions and transactions related to car sales.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the team.
