Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to support our Financial Operations team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate tax compliance and reporting for a large, complex not-for-profit university. What You’ll Do- Manage tax compliance processes, including sales & use tax (FL & PR) and income tax withholding
- Prepare and file tax returns and related work papers (Form 990, 990-T, 1041s, 5500s, etc.)
- Reconcile tax liability accounts and support the monthly and year-end close
- Maintain and support tax filing software (Pro System)
- Monitor tax law changes and communicate impacts to stakeholders
- Assist with policy updates, internal trainings, and process improvements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 4+ years of accounting/tax experience
- Strong Excel skills and solid workpaper documentation
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Master’s in Accounting and/or CPA
- Experience in not-for-profit or fund accounting
- Knowledge of non-profit tax rules
- Familiarity with Banner Financial Systems
