As a Junior Accountant, you will report to the Accounting Manager and assists with multiple dutiesregarding accounting functions of Charter Schools USA within established deadlines.
The Staff Accountant provides a wide variety of customer services for school locations.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for multiple entities, which includes the following:
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and post required journal entries.
- Review & reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare summary of significant events and budget variances.
- Prepare supporting documentation for financial statements including balance sheet schedules and other reconciliations.
- Work closely with independent auditors during annual financial statement audit with preparing schedules and invoices, providing explanations of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data.
- Posting of accounts to the General Ledger for:
- Accounts Receivable
- Cash Receipts
- Accounts Payable
- Cash Disbursements
- Payroll
- Maintain records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material, update records as necessary.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, schools, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
- Provide support such as schedules, data, information, etc. for the annual budget process.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field.
- 1-3 years' bookkeeping or other relevant accounting experience.
- Computer Basics -- MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); proficiency in accounting software.
- Commitment to company values.

- May perform other duties assigned.
- Usual office working conditions.
- No physical exertion required.
- Travel within or outside of state.
- Light work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
