They are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a strong background in month-end close and financial reporting.
Salary/Hourly Rate$75k - $80k
Position OverviewThe Accounting Manager will oversee one Accountant and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and financial reporting. This role offers room for growth and broad exposure across operations in the USA. The ideal candidate has extensive experience overseeing general accounting functions and leading month-end close processes.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager- Oversee general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, treasury, asset management, and taxes.
- Ensure the integrity of general ledger accounts through consistent P&L account usage and substantiation of balance sheet balances.
- Lead and execute accurate and timely month-end close, including pre-close review and post-close balance sheet and account reviews with the Finance Director.
- Manage and support accounting staff, including performance oversight and task prioritization.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with departments impacting financial statements to ensure proper accounting treatment of business initiatives.
- Serve as a financial and business consultant to various internal departments.
- Maintain appropriate provisions and allowances, including returns, inventory, receivables, deferred rent, warranties, and other obligations.
- Identify, implement, and streamline process and procedural improvements.
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience managing staff, setting goals, and providing ongoing training and development.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally to understand business initiatives and financial impact.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
