Our clientis seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant I to join their growing accounting team in the solar construction industry. This role is responsible for general ledger reconciliations, maintaining corporate-level journal entries, and supporting financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations for assigned accounts and related companies

  • Prepare, enter, and update corporate journal entries

  • Maintain and update fixed asset records and monthly account reconciliations

  • Assist in preparing interim financial statements for related entities

  • Support year-end external audit activities and tax return preparation

  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis, respond to inquiries, and assist with research and special projects
  • Assist with division and project budget preparation, including monitoring variances between budget vs. actuals
  • Support month-end close by ensuring journal entries are posted timely and in accordance with the financial close calendar
  • Assist with managing deposits, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts receivable, accruals, and reserves to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
  • Support the preparation and review of financial statements and overhead account reclassifications
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting required

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
    , preferably in a Financial Accounting department
  • Strong Excel skills required; experience with large ERP systems is a must
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability
  • Construction industry experience highly preferred
    ; solar or renewable energy experience is a plus
