Senior Tax Accountant (Onsite, Fort Lauderdale)
Our client is a successful Real Estate Development Firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and they are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team. The Senior Tax Accountant will work closely with the Controller and manage a broad range of tax, accounting, and compliance responsibilities for 30+ (and growing) partnership entities. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in partnership taxation, solid technical skills, and an interest in expanding their expertise in real estate development and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate Form 1065 preparation with external CPA firms
- Reconcile tax returns to GAAP financials (M-1 & M-2)
- Review partnership tax returns for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain and reconcile accounting records
- Prepare and distribute K-1s and 1099s
- Assist with property tax exemptions, insurance claims, budgets, audits, and lender draws
- Support tenant and applicant income‑verification compliance
- Participate in cost segregation studies and tax credit initiatives
- Respond to investor inquiries related to K-1s
- Strong understanding of partnership taxation
- Experience preparing Form 1065s and K-1s
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIF, INDEX, etc.)
- Knowledge of real estate, property management, and insurance concepts
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Law required; CPA or EA preferred
- 2+ years of partnership tax experience
