You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.
Aboutthe role
You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment.
You will follow guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs and provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
- Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE.
- Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical and technical issues.
- Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is needed by occupational health/ER, and refer to EHS guidance.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support pandemic investigation efforts.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state IV therapy requirements.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Bio Life Compensation and Benefits SummaryU.S. Hourly Wage Range: $31.92 – $43.89. The range reflects anticipated compensation; actual hourly wage may vary based on qualifications and experience. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, disability and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 sick hours, and up to 120 vacation hours for new hires.
