As part of the Manson Northwest Webster Community School District, THRIVE Academy serves 28 partner districts as a unique, Trauma-Informed, Therapeutic school for students in grades K-12. PositionSummary
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Student Support Staff member to join our dedicated team. This role is at the heart of our mission—helping students through moments of challenge, guiding them with empathy, and supporting their growth through restorative approaches. At THRIVE Academy, you'll never be alone in the work. Small class sizes (no more than 10 students per classroom) and a dedicated para in each room ensure that every staff member can focus on building strong connections and meaningful change.
WhatYou'll Do
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
- Support students during times of need or crisis with calm, restorative guidance.
- Encourage and reinforce positive behaviors and routines.
- Help students develop self-regulation, conflict resolution, and coping strategies.
- Provide small-group and individual social-emotional skill-building.
- Mediate, de-escalate, and assist in creating safe and supportive spaces for learning.
- Partner with teachers and staff to design and implement effective support and intervention plans.
- Model trauma-informed, therapeutic practices to foster student success.
- Heart and patience—a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- An understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic approaches.
- Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Experience or knowledge in de-escalation, conflict resolution, and social-emotional learning practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or Human Services OR
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with students with behavioral or social-emotional needs.
