Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Unit (MSU) position in Arizona, requiring a minimum of 3 years of med/surg experience and comfort with both adult and pediatric patients on 12-hour night shifts.

Job Details

• 20-bed Medical Surgical Unit (MSU) serving both adult/geriatric and pediatric patients,

• 12-hour night shifts with flexibility required to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed,

• Typical schedule alternates between 36-hour and 48-hour weeks, plus up to 1 on-call shift per week,

• Staffing ratios: typically 4:1 (max 5:1) for non-COVID patients; typically 2:1 (max 3:1) for COVID patients,

• Floating to other departments may be required based on qualifications, including taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties,

• May be assigned to assist with Flu Immunization clinics as needed,

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand,

• Current certifications required: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, and PALS,

• Minimum 3 years of med/surg experience required,

• Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience required,

• Must be comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patient populations,

Additional Information

• Provides inpatient nursing care to adult/geriatric and pediatric med/surg patients,

• New employee orientation is held on Mondays only; missing the compliance deadline results in being moved to the next scheduled orientation date,

• Attendance at staff meetings is expected,

• Maximum of 2 shift call-offs permitted for the duration of the assignment
