Fort Defiance Indian Hospital Board, Inc. (FDIHB) is recruiting for full‑time Dentists to join our established, hospital‑based dental outpatient team. We are actively seeking candidates trained in General Dentistry; all experience levels are encouraged to apply. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice in an integrated clinical setting while focusing on the needs of the surrounding community.

• As a team of over 50 dental employees, our goal is to create happy, healthy smiles by providing high‑quality dental care to underserved individuals and families in our communities.
• Modern Equipment: We feature modern A‑DEC operatory units, digital radiography (intraoral, pano, CB/CT), digital charting, air‑driven and electric handpieces, and state‑of‑the‑art endodontic equipment (microscopes, apex locators, and rotary systems).
• Comprehensive Services: You will provide a full range of services, including emergency care, exams, restorative dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, periodontics, fixed and removable prosthodontics, and oral surgery.
• Team Support: We utilize Expanded Function Dental Assistants who are trained to complete dental prophylaxis and place basic and complex amalgam and composite restorations.
• Pediatric Specialty: Comprehensive Pediatric Dentistry is provided in both the outpatient clinical setting and the Operating Room for full mouth rehabilitation, supported by dedicated Pediatric Dentists and Pediatric Dental Assistants.

• Sign‑On Bonus: We offer a substantial sign‑on incentive:
  • $20,000 for an initial 2‑year commitment.
  • $45,000 for a 3‑year (or longer) service commitment.
• Federal Malpractice Coverage: Malpractice coverage is provided for permanent employment under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA).
• Multi‑State License System: FDIHB operates under a multi‑state license system, allowing Dentists to practice with a valid, unrestricted license from any U.S. State or Territory, eliminating the need to secure a specific new state license.
• The Hospital pays for State License, DEA and AHA BLScertification renewal.
• Professional Development: Annual Continuing Education (CE) allowance of $3,500 and professional development funds are provided.
• Loan Repayment: Our facility qualifies for multiple Loan Repayment Programs (LRPs) that can be combined with Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF):
  • National Health Services Corps (NHSC) LRP: Up to $75,000 towards qualifying educational loans for a 2‑Year service commitment.
  • Arizona State LRP (AZSLRP): Up to $65,000 towards qualifying educational loans for a 2‑Year service commitment.
  • Indian Health Services (I.H.S.) LRP: Up to $50,000 towards qualifying educational loans for a 2‑Year service commitment.

• Work‑Life Balance: Enjoy a 4‑day, 10‑hour work week with 3‑day weekends. There is no on‑call requirement.
• Housing: 1‑4 Bedroom homes are offered to permanent Medical Staff.

• No additional experience required outside of completed training program as defined in the education qualifications below.

• Completion of an accredited Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).

• Active, unrestricted Dental License from any U.S. State or Territory.
• Current, valid, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) License.
