ATA Services, Inc., is looking for a Software Systems Engineer for our client the Colorado Department of Public Safety.

We are seeking a technically skilled professional to support the evaluation and implementation of software solutions for automotive shop management, warehouse operations, inventory management, and asset management.

• Stakeholder Collaboration (30%) Meet with Fleet, Warehouse, and Wildland Fire Logistics teams to gather requirements and provide regular updates to leadership.
• Evaluate Off‑the‑Shelf Software (30%) Research, test, and assess commercial software products for automotive repair, warehouse, inventory, and asset management needs.
• Develop Custom Solutions (30%) Explore, design, and test custom software tools when commercial options do not meet requirements. Assist with data entry, filing, and general tasks related to inventory and asset management.
• Administrative Support (10%) Ability to pass background and fingerprint check. On‑site MF, 8:00‑5:00; potential for 12 remote days per week.

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with:
  • Software architecture design, system modeling, and requirements analysis.
  • API development, system testing, debugging, and performance monitoring.
  • Automotive repair shop workflows.
  • Inventory and asset management processes, including barcode scanners, reorder points, valuation, and invoicing.
  • Tools and platforms such as Google Suite, Excel, Smartsheet, Shopify/Ecommerce, , Asset Panda, Quick Books.

• Highly organized; able to coordinate and lead virtual vendor meetings.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
