Locksmith Technician
Reports To:
General Manager or Franchise Owner
Key Responsibilities
The Locksmith & Security Specialist Technician is an integral part of Fly Lock Security Solutions - Northern Colorado and is key to the growth of the company. The technician must work well in a high-paced environment, both as part of a team and independently from the Fly Lock owner. The role is hands-on and technical, with interaction with customers to develop relationships and generate and close Client/Customer leads for physical security solutions.
The responsibilities of a Fly Lock Locksmith & Security Specialist Technician consist of the following:
- Perform technical work on the field or in the shop/office on behalf of Fly Lock and its Clients/Customers.
- Install, repair, and maintain Commercial and Residential Door and Lock hardware.
- Modify hardware for locks.
- Create and maintain master key systems.
- Residential & Commercial lock re-keying; perform pinning of locks.
- Cut keys by code.
- Install, repair, and maintain all aspects of door and frame hardware.
- Install, repair, and maintain access control hardware & software.
- Install, repair, and maintain CCTV hardware & software.
- Install, repair, and maintain intrusion detection systems.
- Master the systems behind the brands that Fly Lock partners with and acts as a dealer for.
- Build client/customer relationships for physical security solutions on behalf of Fly Lock.
- Master the use and maintenance of the equipment, software, and systems necessary to perform job responsibilities.
- Perform emergency work orders after hours for Fly Lock’s Clients/Customers (commercial clients only).
- Receive verbal instructions from Management or Clients/Customers.
- Perform small projects as directed by Management.
- Complete and submit paperwork accurately and on time.
- Good relationship-building skills with a diverse population including all customers’ partners, technicians, and all other company employees.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple functions at the same time.
- Good organizational skills.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Capable of working effectively as part of a team.
- Able to work safely on ladders.
- Ability to drive in compliance with company vehicle policy.
- Provide a high level of timely and accurate customer service.
- Communicates effectively with the client to determine what services are needed.
- Respond to general inquiries from customers/clients.
- Must be able to fluently understand, speak, and write English.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to kneel, crouch and stoop.
- Ability to reach above and below the shoulders.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist, and pull.
- Ability to climb a ladder and work above ground.
- Withstand external weather conditions year-round.
