The RoleThe Director of Clinical Operations (CO & WY) will contribute to the fulfillment of Panorama Eyecare’s mission statement by overseeing operations and growth for Panorama Clinics. This role requires a dynamic leader adept at patient care excellence, data driven decision making, strategic thinking, and business and financial acumen. This role will optimize clinic operations, foster relationships with medical providers, build culture through strong leadership, and serve as a liaison between clinics and senior leadership for their assigned region.
Own and drive project rollouts from initiation through completion, ensuring clear accountability, timely execution, and measurable outcomes; responsible for executing on KPIs across the organization.
- Strategic Execution & Market Leadership
- Execute market-wide initiatives and growth plans developed by executive leadership, ensuring consistent implementation across all Panorama practices in Colorado and Wyoming.
- Translate strategic priorities into clear, actionable plans for Practice Managers and hold accountability for timely and effective execution.
- Operational Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all CO & WY practices, proactively identifying operational challenges and working directly with Practice Managers (~8 Practice Managers) to resolve issues in real time.
- Practice Manager Leadership & Accountability
- Directly manage and coach Practice Managers, providing clear expectations, ongoing feedback, and support to ensure operational excellence at each location.
- Physician & Executive Partnership
- Work closely with physicians, Vice Presidents, and cross-functional leaders to align operational execution with clinical goals and organizational priorities.
- Patient Experience & Service Recovery
- Ensure patient experience standards are consistently upheld across the market.
- Partner with Practice Managers to address patient concerns, escalations, and service recovery opportunities promptly and effectively.
- Performance Management & KPI Execution
- Execute on organizational KPIs across all Colorado practices, monitoring performance trends and driving corrective action where gaps exist.
- Review operational metrics regularly with Practice Managers and implement targeted improvements to drive consistency and results.
- Responsible for coaching and developing Practice Managers for personal and professional growth
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure that all practices adhere to industry standards, regulations, and best practices to deliver consistent, high-quality patient care.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with centralized teams (scheduling, revenue cycle, HR, IT, marketing, and clinical leadership) to ensure smooth execution of initiatives at the practice level.
- Support rollout of new processes, tools, and workflows, ensuring adoption and sustainability.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive operational consistency and continuous improvement across the market by identifying best practices and scaling them across locations.
- Support change management by reinforcing expectations and addressing resistance at the practice level.
- Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership on operational performance, challenges, and execution status across the Colorado market.
- Surface risks, barriers, and resource needs early to support informed decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Equivalent professional experience in ophthalmology operations may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership position required; minimum 5 years healthcare experience required.
- Prior Ophthalmology experience required.
- Professional experience in managing multiple medical practices.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records systems and other patient experience support technologies required. Preferably Next Gen or Mod Med.
- Strong process improvement mindset with experience leading the execution of projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Proven leadership and culture-building abilities in a multi-location setting.
- This is a Full-Time position based in Colorado, requiring travel between assigned locations. Must be based in CO or WY.
- Compensation for this role will be $135,000- $150,000 annually based on experience/certification.
- This position is eligible for a 12% annual bonus.
