Senior Test Development Engineer
Acara Solutions is seeking a Senior Test Development Engineer to join our client for a contract opportunity located in Fort Collins, CO.
- Pay Rate: $70.00-$90.00/hour
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, normal business hours
- Contract up to 6 months
- Design, develop, document, and implement automated test solutions using NI Test Stand and LabVIEW
- Develop and implement cost‑effective, efficient test solutions for manufacturing and service environments
- Support testing of high‑frequency and high‑voltage circuits and systems
- Collaborate with test design engineers throughout the Product Development Process for new and legacy products
- Provide software development expertise and technical guidance for test implementation
- Ensure test software meets high standards for code quality, performance, and continuous improvement
- Prepare, verify, validate, and maintain test and diagnostic automation tools across the product lifecycle
- Create and maintain technical and support documentation
- Provide feedback to design teams to improve defect detection in manufacturing and field applications
- Estimate project costs and schedules for test solution implementation
- Verify products meet functional requirements, including design verification and manufacturing screening
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of software development experience
- Minimum of 5 years of product test development experience
- Minimum of 5 years of programming experience with NI LabVIEW, Test Stand, SQL, and Python
- Minimum of 5 years of experience using source code control systems
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with general‑purpose automated test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, DAQs, switches)
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with object‑oriented programming principles
- SQL scripting, database design, and database support experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturing test environments and operator interfaces
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence design decisions
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems
- Expertise in test automation and data collection systems
- Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
- Regularly working in the lab, office, and manufacturing facilities with products capable of power output up to 100 kW.
