Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000 per year plus sales incentive compensation. Job DescriptionAs a Sales Engineer, you will be a critical member of the Persistent Systems Air Force Sales team, working closely with Account Managers and Business Development leads to solve our customers’ most difficult mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) problems. You will serve as the technical lead and subject‑matter expert in the development of MANET architecture for Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) and Base Defense (including Counter‑UAS) architecture.
You will be responsible for all technical aspects of Wave Relay® MANET solutions offered to our customers, and you will play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges to our engineering department to shape future product development.
- Collaborate with Account Managers to identify and create winning sales strategies with technical and mathematical expertise.
- Contribute to Sales Engineering effectiveness by identifying short‑term and long‑term issues, providing commentary relevant to deliberations, recommending options, and implementing directives.
- Develop long‑term customer relationships by managing and interpreting client requirements.
- Provide pre‑sales technical assistance and product training.
- Design technical solutions to meet prospect business, technical, and/or financial goals.
- Support and respond effectively and timely to RFI/RFPs.
- Design, conduct, and document technical demonstrations, including customer events and exercises.
- Partner with the sales team to develop requirement documents, presentations, proposals, and ROI models, coordinating with support specialists, consultants, or project managers to execute sales objectives.
- Maintain expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products to develop and present unique solutions, and keep up‑to‑date with emerging technology and online advertising trends.
- Work closely with Product Managers and Engineering by providing feedback from pre‑sales projects.
- Provide guidance and requirements for customers, including RF antenna solutions, physical interfaces, and custom installations that meet client needs.
- Develop and train internal staff with technical information.
- Provide post‑sales support and technical backup as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Work in the Persistent Systems office in Fort Collins, CO.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales and/or field sales.
- Strong familiarity with DoD aircraft and their subsystems.
- Strong understanding of network concepts such as IP routing, switching, and VPN architecture.
- Strong understanding of RF characteristics and RF engineering.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local customers and contracting methods.
- Experience conceptualizing, developing, and presenting technical presentations to large groups of customers.
- Willing and able to travel 50% of the time.
- Must have a U.S. security clearance, or ability to obtain one.
- At least 5+ years’ experience in engineering or consulting.
- Prior U.S. Air Force program experience in JADC2 or Base Defense areas.
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
