RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead design and construction of hydraulic tunnel projects in the Central and West Regions.
- Support design teams and oversee all aspects of trenchless discipline and multi‑benefit projects with high technical complexity.
- Build and maintain client relations and participate in project development and contract document preparation.
- Participate in technical advancement and corporate management of HDR’s tunnel/trenchless program, working with national Business Class Director and technical leads.
- Support overall quality control, manage project delivery risk, and participate in go/no‑go process during project pursuit.
- Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
- U.S. focused tunneling design and construction experience.
- Experience leading design and construction of tunnels and underground facilities for major projects.
- Rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and geotechnical engineering expertise.
- Industry‑facing publication and presentation track record.
- Ph.D. in engineering or related field (preferred).
- Marketing and business development skills with contacts in the discipline.
- Numerical analysis experience (e.g., FLAC, UDEC, PLAXIS).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 10 years related experience.
- Minimum 5 years project management experience.
- Professional engineering license recognized in the location.
- MS Office and MS Project experience.
- Leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.
