The bus driver plays an important role at Liberty Common School, ensuring students are safe during the loading, unloading, transporting, and transferring on buses.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:
Regular, Part-time
WORK HOURS:
15-25 hours per week
PAY RANGE: $16.00-$20.00/per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
BENEFITS:
Enrollment in Colorado’s Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) and employer contributions to your PERA retirement account.

Work Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with children preferred
Licenses, Registration or Certification:Criminal background check required for hire
First aid certification required within 60 days of hire
Ensure all students are properly loaded and seated
Supervise students during transporting while reinforcing high behavioral expectations
Enforce administration policies and rules governing students
Communicate clearly and respectfully with students, other faculty, and parents
Adapt communication styles when necessary to support individual students and their families
Physical Requirements:Must be able to maneuver uneven surfaces
Must be able to carry or transfer up to 20lbs of supplies frequently
Must be able to work in occasionally loud environments
Must be able to frequently use office technology including computers, copiers, and printers
Must be able to use commercial office tools including paper cutters and staplers
Oral and written communication skills desired
Personal computer and keyboarding skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations
Knowledge of Liberty’s Transportation policies, procedures, and code of conduct
Ability to supervise and effectively interact with students
Basic understanding of bus operations and emergency procedures
Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator

Liberty Common School is located in the City of Fort Collins in Northern Colorado.
