Alpha School believes every child should read at grade level or higher. Our 2-Hour Learning model combines AI-adaptive technology with skilled teaching to accelerate reading progress. Your role: create and implement brief, focused reading workshops that produce measurable improvements in phonics, fluency, and comprehension for early elementary learners, and help scale this program to campuses nationwide.
This role focuses on data-informed teaching, technology collaboration, and constructing a reading program that serves thousands of students. It is about lead instruction, growth, and impact, not about lesson-plan documentation.
Responsibilities- Conduct brief, focused reading workshops that develop phonics, comprehension, and fluency abilities
- Create personalized motivational sessions that leverage gamified literacy benchmarks
- Examine student performance data to optimize instruction and identify actionable patterns
- Partner with engineers to assess and improve AI literacy tools informed by classroom outcomes
- Build scalable, AI-integrated content that helps early elementary students reach grade-level proficiency
- Conducting 90-minute lessons or adhering to traditional curriculum—students engage with academic subjects via AI-adaptive applications
- Bachelor s degree
- Advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, CERI, or equivalent) OR Master s degree in reading instruction
- At least 2 years of experience providing small-group reading interventions to K–2 students
- Capable of assessing reading levels, organizing students into groups, and creating differentiated instruction independent of pre-written curricula
- Proficient with AI/adaptive learning tools and attentive to student interactions within them
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Working with usThis is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The role is available immediately and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
