Accountant II
Location:
Fort Collins, Colorado, Onsite

Position Overview
A growing wealth management firm in Fort Collins is seeking an Accountant II to join its collaborative finance team. This role supports core accounting operations while gaining exposure to investment activity, client-related transactions, and financial reporting within a financial services environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with a strong foundation who is looking to grow in the wealth management industry.
Key Responsibilities of Accountant II:
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
- Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Record and reconcile cash activity, investment transactions, and fee revenue
- Assist with accounts payable and expense processing
- Track and reconcile client and custodial account activity
- Maintain schedules for prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets
- Support audit requests and documentation preparation
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies
- Identify and recommend process improvements
Qualifications of Accountant II:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of accounting experience
- Experience in financial services, investment accounting, or wealth management is a plus
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
- Experience with accounting systems/ERPs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Preferred
- Exposure to investment or portfolio accounting
- Experience working with multiple entities or complex reconciliations
- CPA path or interest in pursuing certification
