Hetherington Group is seeking a Cyber Instructor to support training delivery at the United States Army John
F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This role supports a government training environment focused on preparing students to operate effectively under real world operational conditions.
The instructor will deliver hands on cyber and digital operational instruction, support practical training laboratories, and evaluate students based on demonstrated proficiency, judgment, and application of technical skills. Instruction is provided to United States Special Operations Forces and interagency personnel in cyber related operational capabilities that support Multi Domain Operations (MDO).
Training topics include digital reconnaissance, force protection within cyberspace, operational security measures in digital environments, and related technical capabilities that support course and operational requirements.
This position is suited for an instructor who combines technical depth with disciplined instructional practice and who understands the performance standards expected in Special Warfare training environments. The ideal candidate has real world cyber operations experience and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical skills for operational personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver classroom instruction and practical exercises aligned with approved government curriculum and training objectives.
- Train United States Special Operations Forces and interagency personnel in cyber related operational skills supporting Multi Domain Operations, including digital reconnaissance, cyber force protection, operational security, and related digital capabilities.
- Support the development, refinement, and maintenance of instructional materials in accordance with Army and TRADOC instructional standards.
- Update and revise lesson plans and instructional materials when directed by the government to reflect changes in doctrine, tactics, or training requirements.
- Provide subject matter expertise during course planning, instructional reviews, and training assessments.
- Support practical training laboratories and virtualized environments used for cyber instruction, including systems utilizing VMware technologies.
- Evaluate student performance through practical exercises and demonstrations to assess proficiency in required course learning objectives.
- Maintain professional instructional standards and classroom discipline appropriate for training Special Operations personnel.
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification (experience managing VMware based lab environments – preferred)
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must possess active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- Minimum of five (5) years professional experience in cybersecurity, network operations, or related technical field.
- Strong & demonstrated proficiency in networking fundamentals, protocols, and network administration
- Experience delivering technical instruction or training in cybersecurity or network operations
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to operational personnel for decisions and methodologies
- Strong written communication skills
- Prior instructional experience in DoD, Special Operations, or government training environments
- Experience supporting curriculum updates or lesson development
- Familiarity with operational security considerations in cyber and digital domains
- Prior military or government cyber operations experience.
This is a contract position supporting a government training program at Fort Bragg. This position is contingent upon contract award, contract requirements, government customer needs, government security requirements and timelines, and instructional standards.
