Duties Help
* Provides a wide spectrum of age-specific obstetrical care.
* Advocates for patients with fellow members of the Maternal-Child care team.
* Performs a variety of RN duties; such as: managing the patients' physical condition through the labor and delivery process.
* Monitors fetal well-being by means of electronic fetal monitoring and other standard parameters.
* Initiates parent/infant bonding by promoting a baby-friendly environment.
* Provides support to patients and their family members.
* Educates parents on proper newborn cares.
* Administers intravenous fluids and medications.
* Responds to life-saving situations, using nursing protocols for treatment.
* Performs Supervisory duties.
* Documents in electronic medical records. Requirements Help Conditions of employment
* Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 2 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
* This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
* One year trial/probationary period may be required.
* This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18. You must undergo a specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification to obtain and maintain a suitable determination for regular contact with children.
* This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons.
* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
* This position is covered by the Department of Defense Civilian Employee Drug-Free Workplace Program as a testing designated position (TDP).
* This position requires the incumbent to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
* This position may require the incumbent to work on rotating shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
* This position has been designated as Mission Essential and the incumbent must assume essential personnel status during inclement weather/emergencies.
* This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
* This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
* This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
* One year Supervisory probationary period may be required. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below.
