Summary:

Seeking an experienced, customer-facing Linux System Administrator to support efforts in a US Government Lab. All work will be on-site, in secure environment. A TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly or better is required, as is a college degree from an accredited university. This is a quick-turnaround requirement, job decision will be made before the end of January 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Looking for strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, with demonstrated experience managing both physical and virtual infrastructure in data center settings
• Will be responsible for hardware/asset management, server and workstation deployment, and creating efficient automation solutions for repetitive tasks
• Strong documentation skills are essential, must be able to produce clear, useable documentation for both internal teams and customers.
• This position required technical proficiency combined with excellent communication skills to effectively support our client’s infrastructure. Example Tasks:
• Assist users with application, account, hardware or other issues
• Build, maintain, update, and retire virtual, physical and cloud Red Hat and Windows hosts
• Maintain and support Enterprise Storage Systems (IBM ESS)
• Provision, adjust or tear down project resources such as Kubernetes namespace, virtual or physical hosts and workstations
• Perform data center tasks such as equipment inventory, racking and cabling servers, performing hardware troubleshooting and repairs
• Maintain hardware, including workstations, servers, Enterprise Storage arrays from multiple vendors, network equipment. Troubleshooting, identifying faults, coordinating order and installation of replacement parts
• Coordinate major activities such as data center disruptions caused by power work, including communicating with users and customers
• Support, install, update, troubleshoot and remove specialty applications, services and systems in support of project and user needs
• Install/implement/update security controls necessary to maintain required security posture in support of asset ATOs
