Description
Captivation Software is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator/Field Engineer to support operational systems at multiple military locations, both CONUS and OCONUS. The role involves interfacing with users at all levels to help them understand our product. Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time is required. The position offers hybrid work arrangements, primarily based voir, VA.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving servers and network infrastructure.
- Provide technical support to development teams for application deployment and integration.
- Offer guidance and technical assistance on hardware and software to teams and project managers.
- Have a broad understanding of software systems, backup, monitoring, network, and storage technologies.
- Optimize and troubleshoot environments for clients.
- Support testing and deployment of new applications and upgrades.
- Maintain accreditation packages for software.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Security Clearance:
- Current Secret U.S. Government security clearance required; U.S. Citizen. Candidates with TS+ clearance considered.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 9 years of Linux Systems Administration experience with a related Bachelor's degree; 7 years with a Master's; or 13 years with a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- Experience installing and upgrading software on operating systems.
- Experience collaborating with development teams to troubleshoot systems and applications.
- Experience using ticketing systems like JIRA or Service Now.
- Must hold DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications (e.g., Security+).
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, with flexibility for schedule changes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef).
- Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Kafka, etc.).
- Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Higher security clearances (TS/SCI with Polygraph) are a plus.
This position is for direct hire only; no staffing/recruiting firms considered.
Benefits
- Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 based on experience.
- Up to 20% 401k contribution (Vested from Day 1, no match required).
- Above market hourly rates.
