Position: Outpatient Psychiatrist needed, located 30-miles east of Madison, WI

Overview

Outpatient Psychiatrist – Fort Health Care Behavioral Health

Location:

Fort Atkinson, WI

Position Type:
Full-Time

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, including monitoring efficacy and side effects
  • Provide supportive psychotherapy as appropriate
  • Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, state regulations, and organizational policies
  • Provide crisis intervention and referrals to higher levels of care when indicated
  • Participate in case conferences, clinical meetings, and quality improvement activities
Patient Population
  • Adults / Children & Adolescents / Geriatric

Common conditions treated may include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD, PTSD, and substance use disorders

Work Setting & Schedule
  • Outpatient clinic setting
  • 4-5 clinic days
  • Limited on-call requirements (telephone)
  • In-person, hybrid, or telepsychiatry options may be available
Compensation & Benefits
  • Total annual compensation range: $300,000+ plus sign-on bonus

Requirements
  • Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active (or eligible) state medical license
  • DEA registration
  • Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology
  • Preferred
  • Experience in outpatient or community mental health settings
  • Subspecialty training (e.g., Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry)
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Patient-centered and culturally competent approach to care
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
