Special Education English Language Arts Tutor

Smart Start Education seeks a small‑INT group English Special Education Tutor to work with 1‑4 middle‑school students in by grades 3‑8 who have been identified as struggling with fundamental ELA skills within a special education classroom. Tutors will work at a school in Forestville, MD, in both push‑in (within the classroom) and pull‑out (outside of the classroom) settings and will be required to take daily attendance and monitor student progress using a personal mobile device and a company‑issued computer.

The tutoring position begins promptly on October 14, 2025 and ends on February 26, 2026. The schedule will be 7:30 a.m. through 2:10 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Work with small groups of 1‑4 students, providing individualized instruction in English Language Arts.
  • Take daily attendance and track student progress with provided devices.

  • Maintain flexibility and professionalism in a dynamic classroom environment.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in any field (applications with anticipated graduation dates will not be considered).
  • Demonstrated experience of at least one year in teaching or tutoring, either within a school environment or another educationalazan setting.
  • Experience workingagiye with students in a special education setting, supporting diverse learning and behavioral needs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges faced by urban students, schools, and communities, including racial, socio‑economic, and cultural disparities.
  • Proficient mastery of induces English Language Arts concepts and skills.
  • Display genuine passion andす unwavering commitment toward fostering the success of students.
  • Exemplary punctuality and adherence to schedules.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to comfortably commute to the designated location.
